Ayeina’s Alhamdulillah For Series Journal- A Review

If you haven’t been following Ayeina’s blog, or their social media accounts, I strongly believe you’re missing out on some positive vibes that they’ve been generously & lovingly sprinkling around.

Anas Radiyallahu ‘Anhu relates: Allah Ta’aala is pleased with that servant who eats one morsel (bite) or drinks one sip and gives thanks to Him. : Book 28, Hadith 194

Such is the importance of ‘gratitude’ in Islam. Not a morsel of food, not a fleeting thought, not an eye contact, not the twitch of a muscle, not a single cell of our body exists or functions without the Almighty’s ‘go’ or forsaking His awareness. He knows everything. He commands everything. He controls everything. He owns everything. He gives us in uncountable ways, in ways we know and don’t know, in the form of tests and blessings. From either being born as a Muslim, or being introduced to & embracing Islam halfway through our life span, from having a roof over our head, to having enough to help the homeless, we have a million and more things, instances, people to be grateful for. How often do we exercise the act of being grateful?

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet(s.a.w) said:
“The one who eats and is grateful is like the status of the patient fasting person”:  Book 37, Hadith 2674
Knowing the hardships, tests, and rewards of fasting during this holy month, could there be a better comparison at the given time?

Reasons I love Ayeina:

  1. The art lover in me appreciates the creativity that goes into the concept of each illustration
  2. The freebies they give their subscribers.
  3. Their motto ‘ Collaboration over Competition’. Those three single words have given me hope and confidence that not everyone out there is set to blow out your candle.
  4. How they’ve been changing lives with their #AlhamdulillahForSeries Journal.

Details regarding prices, covers, languages, and stockists can be found on their estore & stocks to know where these perfect little gifts can be bought in the country you’re in.

The illustrations are simple, cute, and nearly speak up to you. They’re all watercolor rendered and digitized.

The gratitude journal is broadly categorized into Alhamdulillah for Basic Necessities, for Ties that Bind, for Islam & for Everything. The idea of categorizing into these itself was rather smart. It makes us realize that there are too many things around us, that exist for us by Allah’s grace, before we even had a chance to pray for them, and that we use up extensively, & plainly take advantage of. SubhanAllah! There’s a page with a little Intro/ Info on how they think one could reflect over each category at the beginning of each of the four parts. The Notes page at the end of every category gives an insight to think along the same lines and make a record of similar entities that we are indeed grateful for.

Allah’s generosity is connected to gratitude, and gratitude is linked to increase in His generosity. The generosity of Allah will not stop increasing unless the gratitude of the servant ceases.

— Ali ibn Abu Talib (kw)

I have been putting off this review since a while, due to legit and lame reasons, and the time couldn’t be better than now to post this up. This would make a wonderful Eid gift to the ones you love, kids and adults. Better yet, it works as a great bonding activity to do with your children, nieces and nephews.

Suratul Ibrahim, 14:7,

And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks, I will give you more; but if you are thankless, verily, My punishment is indeed severe.”

… and when gratitude becomes a part of your routine, you’re less mindful of the imperfections in your life. You attract abundance. You learn to appreciate the little and large details that you otherwise overlook, that Allah has bestowed you with, in the best possible way, under His wisdom.

  1. This resonates with me so much: “When gratitude becomes a part of your routine, you’re less mindful of the imperfections in your life. You attract abundance.”

Not only is this the oft mentioned “Law of Attraction” but Allah told also us the same: “And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.’ ” [Surat Ibrahim, 14:7].

    Thank you for the reminder!

  3. I own a copy of this beautiful book and have also included this in my latest post entitled Eid Gift Guide. I really like the colours they’ve used and the glossy paper is great! A perfect way to show gratitude to Allah.
